Notes

Certificate of Occupancy Recieved

Great News! The Certificate of Occupancy has been released to all of us, and we are excited to see what you do with the house from this point forward, and we look forward to working with you on many more projects!

Update on Build

Cornerstone is to do outdoor flatwork today. Thornton has completed. Sarah bought insulation for Daniel; it is not yet done due to car issues. Daniel to address egress well being adjusted as well. The concrete dumpster was delivered yesterday.  The excavator is doing a contractor grade today. Kenny is rescheduling the water meter today.

Coming down to the end of the house! We are excited to be able to try to get a Certificate of Occupancy and will let you have tenants move in.

Final Fit and Finish

The final fit and finish is happening at Taylor St currently, and we are waiting on water to get installed to be able to get the HVAC installed (because of grading). We are going to go as far as we can with fit and finish and the house is looking very good. Will be updating photos soon!

Update 6/19/2023

As of Friday, the 16th, 2023 we have accomplished many things! The rough fit and finish are done. We have addressed the NIPSCO issues; which include the city not updating the address on the permits and/or the inspections – this is the reason for the long delay on the NIPSCO meter getting installed. Conversations have been had and Catherine has let us know that the water issue is soon to be resolved by Abe’s Plumbing. Once the water is on we will be able to finish the house completely, and we will be able to have a walkthrough with everyone! New photos of the progress of the fit and finish have been uploaded along with the ability to see the latest photos first…

Please let any of us know if there are any issues. We will work to make sure that these are fixed immediately; within what is in our control.

Update 5/30/2023

We have been working hard on getting things done and ready for the next step, the final finish.

Unfortunately, we have not heard from the excavator doing the water and sewer work.

We look forward to finishing this job as soon as possible.

Update on the Street

  • Catherine Pingle is meeting with the South Bend Committee sometime this week (10/10/2022 – 10/14/2022) to figure that all out.
  • The gutters are done but will have to be done around the porch once Jesse completes the porch. We are waiting on the gas line to be completed for NIPSCO.
  • Power will be on soon, we are within the 10 days.

Waiting on NIPSCO Engineer

Gas meter placement is hinging on where a NIPSCO engineer will allow us to put it. Kenny contacted NIPSCO Engineer Robert Eberle to get contact information for DTSB Engineer. It was reported that Dustin Walker was the engineer for DTSB and will be going on vacation starting 8/31/2022 for two weeks and that Robert would help get the lateral locations involved in order to get our stub-outs ready for gas meter installation.

House Set

The house for the Affordable Housing Committee in South Bend was set on 8/25/2022. Kenny dropped off the egress window on 8/29/2022 around 13:00.
